CADI recognizes the importance of trilingualism in our students’ future.

Our trilingual students will have a tremendous advantage over their peers in problem solving, creative thinking and preparation for success in educational and career opportunities. Therefore, the CADI curriculum places a strong emphasis on English, German and Spanish from Pre-K through Grade 12.

English

We believe that learning a language goes far beyond memorizing vocabulary or grammar rules. Our goal is for students to use English naturally every day, developing the confidence to communicate both inside and outside the classroom.

Students receive between 7 and 8 hours of English Language instruction each week. In addition, they strengthen their language skills through Mathematics, Science, Art, and Music classes taught entirely in English, giving them authentic opportunities to apply the language across different subjects while experiencing true language immersion.

To monitor their progress, we regularly administer MAP Growth assessments, which measure students' development in reading comprehension, language usage, and grammar These results help us better understand each student's learning needs and provide personalized support that encourages continuous academic growth.

Reading is also an essential part of our English program. Throughout the school year, students read between one and two books in English, helping them expand their vocabulary, improve reading comprehension and fluency, and build confidence in using the language. Every year, we also celebrate English Week, where students participate in activities such as Spelling Bees, reading comprehension challenges, dictations, oral presentations, and other engaging experiences that encourage them to use English in meaningful and enjoyable ways.

Our goal is for every student not only to learn English but to embrace it as a powerful tool that opens doors to new opportunities, connects them with the world, and prepares them for success in an increasingly global environment.

German

German language instruction is delivered through a progressive and immersive approach beginning in the early years of education. Students in PK3, PK4 and Kinder receive 5 hours of German per week, while students from first grade through Grade 12 receive 10 hours weekly, strengthening their linguistic, cultural, and communicative skills. Our program is aligned with international standards and promotes practical language use in real-life contexts. As part of our commitment to academic excellence, our goal for November 2026 is for 20% of our high school students to earn the official B1 Certification (CEFR) from the Goethe-Institut. In the future, we expect all of our high school students to earn at least the B1 Certification if they are at CADI Secondary School for at least three years.  A B1 level enables students to communicate confidently in everyday situations, travel, and work or study in many practical settings. While most German-language university programs in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland require advanced proficiency (typically B2–C1), students with a B1 level may be eligible to continue their preparation through a Studienkolleg (university preparatory program) or intensive language studies before beginning a degree.

CADI’s program provides a strong foundation for students to continue their language development and pursue higher education in these countries.

Our objective, working closely with the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad, is to make the German Language Diploma (DSD) program part of the core of our school’s identity in the near future.

Spanish

Our Spanish program is designed to help students become confident communicators while developing strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, as well as a genuine appreciation for literature. Students receive six hours of Spanish instruction each week, with one of those hours dedicated to “Progrentis” a platform that strengthens problem-solving, reading comprehension, reasoning, and critical thinking skills.

As part of our commitment to academic excellence, we administer diagnostic assessments to better understand each student's learning needs and implement instructional strategies that support their growth. Every year, we also celebrate Spanish Language Week, where students participate in literary, cultural, and creative activities that foster a love for reading, writing, and the richness of the Spanish language.

Reading is a fundamental part of our curriculum. Therefore, every student reads between two and three literary works per grade level each school year, strengthening reading comprehension, expanding vocabulary, and developing analytical and reflective thinking. Our goal is for every student to recognize the power of language as a tool for learning, thinking, creating, and communicating with confidence throughout their academic journey and beyond.
